Finance and Operations Manager

William Chifuniro Salonga serves as the Finance & Operations Manager for OSSEDI Malawi, where he provides strategic leadership and comprehensive oversight of the organization’s financial, operational, and compliance functions. As the custodian of the organization's resources, William is directly responsible for upholding financial integrity, ensuring transparency, and maintaining the highest standards of accountability for all project funds.

William provides end-to-end financial oversight for programs and projects, managing complex budgets. He ensures that all expenditures are correctly documented and compliant with donor requirements, safeguarding the investments into these programs.William’s operational leadership extends to efficient procurement, human resource management, and logistical support. His expertise is built on a strong foundation of safeguarding multi-million-dollar grant portfolios and managing regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining OSSEDI, he held senior roles in Grants Risk & Compliance within the international NGO sector and served in Compliance and Internal Audit within the banking sector, where he sharpened his skills in internal controls and risk mitigation.William holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the University of Malawi and a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Malawi (The Polytechnic). He is a Certified Grants Manager and possesses advanced training and certifications in Enterprise Risk Management, Fraud Risk Management, and Anti-Money Laundering protocols.
